A tale of horrible customer service and a PR shitstorm

Last night I was reading about a momentous epic fail by a company that screwed over it’s customers and tried to flaunt it in their face. The company is Ocean Marketing, who does third-party peripheral marketing, in this particular situation, gaming controllers. The backstory is that a customer named Dave ordered some controllers in November for Christmas from Ocean Marketing. With no communication from Ocean Marketing, he emailed them for info. That is when the shit hit the fan.

Matthew Epstein is product marketer and digital strategist and he wants a job at Google, bad. So bad, that he created a viral marketing campaign to get Google’s attention so they would give him a shot at working at Google. He created a website dedicated to Google hiring him called GooglePleaseHire.me with a witty video to go with it. His website has other funny tidbits about why Google should hire him.
