Google created a new game on it’s social network called A Google A Day, which is a daily search puzzle that is solved using nothing but Google Search to find the answers. It’s a clever way to get users to challenge themselves, and also improve your Google Search skills by learning the best ways to use the search engine.
I am actually really excited about this. Rovio, who made the blockbuster app Angry Birds is finally expanding on their brand with a new line of apps, starting out with Amazing Alex.
Just released on iTunes for the iPhone and iPad comes one of the best movies ever made, which is now available as an app created by Fuse Powered Inc., who worked with Universal Pictures to take the iconic mobster figure Tony Montana and bring him to our mobile devices.
Do you think you have what it takes to go from a bonafied hustler, to an entrepreneur to a business mogul? That is what Jay-z did, and he wants you to do the same thing in his new Facebook app game called Empire.
This video called Go Right has a double meaning to it; certainly more meaning than what’s on the surface of video game characters always going ‘right’ during game play. It’s a nice catch from Buzzfeed. And with the music by Michael Nyman, and the great game compilation, it’s a winner in my book. Enjoy.
A movie short has been made in honor of the classic arcade game Pac-Man. This one created by James Farr, which is part of the Yellow Sphere Project, takes the classic game and adds a little twist to it to make it their own. The graphics are neat, but since it’s just a movie short, there is much left to be desired. I love Pac-Man, but unless it’s made into a feature film with a big budget, the movie shorts will always be lacking. At least it isn’t is bad as this one though.
This may very well be the funniest thing I have seen in a while. It’s also a travesty at the same time. I’m sure most of you have seen the commercials for Kinect Star Wars, which the game looks bad ass and I really want to play it when it comes out. As part of the game, there is a mini-game within it for Dance Central with the Star Wars characters. This is where things get epic.
If you are into Role Playing Games and like that old school Final Fantasy slash Zelda-esque type of game, then you should enjoy this Japanese style RPG called Americana Dawn. The game is a historical fantasy that takes place in the 18th Century during the French and Indian War revolution which has a very detailed story line and features.
Denmark isn’t just known for their wonderfully tasting Danish pastries. Oh no, they also have something much better that the kiddies really enjoy. The Danish playgrounds are more than just monkey bars and slides. They are elaborate escapes of adventure and imagination sure to make any kid happy. These look really fun!
Angry Birds has made it pretty far for some pig killing birds. First they conquered mobile devices, then Google Chrome, Google Plus, and then Facebook. What could possibly be next? How about the final frontier. Angry Birds are going to venture outside of this world and into Space. Angry Birds in Space will be “One small fling for a bird, one quantum leap for birdkind.”
A real addicting game lately for me has been Temple Run. Some people like their Angry Birds, I like my angry demon monkeys! Parkour free runner Adam Brashaw apparently likes it too. He even wondered what the Temple Run game would be like in real life. So he made this creative video, which gives you an idea of what it would be like to run from the demon monkeys with Brashaw being chased by fellow parkour free runner Chris Lodge.
I am channeling my inner Pauly D for my excitement here. Star Wars and Lucas Films have released their official iOS gaming app for iPhone and iPad. Although I am excited, it’s not the iOS game that I would have hoped for, but hey, it’s Star Wars.
According to a report from Kotaku, a gamer in Taipei, Taiwan was playing the multi-player game League of Legends in an Internet cafe for several hours before dying. He laid dead for nine hours before anyone noticed that there was a dead body next to them in the cafe.
The very popular Angry Birds game that took the mobile app market by storm, then Google Chrome and naturally Google Plus is making it’s way to the biggest most dominant social platform in history; Facebook, which by the way is supposed to be filing it’s IPO possibly by tomorrow.
For the past week I have to admit something I have been doing. You see, most of my iPhone time has been spent playing Temple Run. I definitely think I am addicted to it. It’s one of my favorite iPhone apps at the moment. If you haven’t played it before, go download it (it’s free) and give it a try. You will like it, I promise, but be prepared to not be able to put it down after.
