I am actually really excited about this. Rovio, who made the blockbuster app Angry Birds is finally expanding on their brand with a new line of apps, starting out with Amazing Alex.
Angry Birds has made it pretty far for some pig killing birds. First they conquered mobile devices, then Google Chrome, Google Plus, and then Facebook. What could possibly be next? How about the final frontier. Angry Birds are going to venture outside of this world and into Space. Angry Birds in Space will be “One small fling for a bird, one quantum leap for birdkind.”
The very popular Angry Birds game that took the mobile app market by storm, then Google Chrome and naturally Google Plus is making it’s way to the biggest most dominant social platform in history; Facebook, which by the way is supposed to be filing it’s IPO possibly by tomorrow.
First of all, I loved the movie Snatch. Not everyone liked it, but I did, it’s good. If you haven’t seen it, you should. So the premise here is Angry Birds is made into a movie, with the likeness of the movie Snatch. If this Angry Birds movie was ever made, it would be epic. There really isn’t much to say other than it would be a must see.
The obsession over Angry Birds may finally be getting out of hand. From apps to videos to stuffed toys, Angry Birds continues to be an exploding brand. Gear4 is even coming out with Angry Birds speaker docks. There are three docks: Red Bird, Black Bird and Helmet Pig and they will play back audio and charge your devices at the same time. They don’t have sound effects unfortunately. The speakers are available for pre-order now, just in time to please your addicted friends and family for the holidays!
The Google Chrome Team made a funny video for Angry Birds which is voiced over by Rovio developers Peter Vesterbacka, Jaakko Lisalo and Serdar Soganci. The video highlights some of the great things about the Google Chrome browser which makes gaming so much better on Chrome than on other browsers.
Smartphones can be used for a variety of things, mostly utilitarian as mobile devices let us do things on the go when in the past we were forced to be at home or work if you wanted to use your computer or get on the web. Conversely, things that were typically used only on the computer can now be on mobile devices.
Angry Birds is one of the hottest apps to hit the mobile market since well, mobile and apps have been around. You will always find Angry Birds in the Top Paid apps in the App Store and has already reached 300 million downloads. With merchandise, seasonal apps and even a movie, Angry Birds has become a bit of an obsession for many.
In similar thinking if your favorite social media sites were superheroes, what if Angry Birds were superheroes, like, Spiderman or Batman? Welp, you guessed it — Angry Birds get the super hero treatment in this group of illustrations from Senor Picante.
Just yesterday I blogged on Angry Birds coming to the Chrome browser and how you can now play the game at your desktop. It has already been hacked! All levels have been unlocked with an HTML5 local storage cache exploit. I just tested and it works. Just copy the JavaScript and paste to your Chrome browser window while in the game to unlock all levels.
Now you can play Angry Birds on the right on your web browser by getting the free app in the Chrome Web Store. Just install and it’s ready to play. Continue on to see me playing the first level. Now I have a new time waster!
I love this video. It’s called the Three Big Pigs which represent Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. It has some really great metaphors on the social media impact on these countries recently, including specifically the U.S. at the end. Just watch, it’s really good. Plus it’s based on Angry Birds, so it’s definitely winning!

Microsoft Bing is using Angry Birds in a new commercial for their search engine. It’s cute. Also it says that it’s Episode 1, so if you are an Angry Birds fan I would probably expect more to come.
