comScore released their 2012 Mobile Future in Focus report, which is the first of an annual report that examines the mobile and connected device landscape and gives insights and projections for the following year based on this compiled information.

Apple’s App Store opened in July 2008, about three and half years ago. Just earlier this year in January 2011, Apple announced that they reached a pinnacle of 10 billion app downloads. On the other hand Google’s Android Market opened around the same time as the App Store, in August 2008.
SkyLight is a project by Tess and Andy where a simple accessory will allow you to connect your smart phone to a microscope. The benefit is that you instantly connect the microscope to the world with smart devices.
Aw, Snap! Android just got it’s own retail store. Androidland which just debuted in Australia is the first Android retail experience, an interactive one at that. It has all the similarities that any mobile device store would have: staff to help you with questions, show you how Android powered devices might work, you name it. Except, Androidland is more like an Apple Store + a Game Stop on crack.
If you haven’t heard yet about this Carrier IQ issue, it’s pretty serious. If you are not following me on Twitter, you should be. I tweeted this two days ago, but apparently it’s blown up even more and getting some good press now. The issue is that on many mobile devices there is some program shipped with the devices that in a nutshell are tracking everything you do on your device.
This is sad, for all iPad competitors that is. According to comScore October 2011 results, the iPad is destroying the tablet space with 87.6% of web usage worldwide coming from the iPad. There literally is no other tablet that even comes close to the iPad. Android has 10.9% of usage worldwide.
Today Google announced their next big venture. Google Music launched along with the Google Music Store. Google Music which we talked about before with Beta Music is basically Google’s version of iTunes.

Similar to when an Android phone was launched into space, you get a great visual from up above the clouds of Earth with the iPhone 4S’ new 8 megapixel camera lens.
Photoshop which is the most powerful desktop illustration program known and also the most expensive, has made a mobile app that will be available for tablets. The Adobe Photoshop Touch initially will be available on Android and in early 2012 will be available on the iPad.
