Bridesmaid attends wedding via iPad - Good use of technology?

In a wedding in Denver Colorado, the bridesmaid could not make it to her best friend’s wedding. So the bride and bridesmaid did the next best thing. They leveraged technology to have the bridesmaid appear in the wedding by using an iPad and Apple’s FaceTime to incorporate her into the wedding. Good use of technology or tacky?
