Google contradicts itself with Blogger and Google Plus integration
So maybe I am just having a long day or something, but doesn’t it seem that Google is contradicting itself with the Blogger and Google Plus integration? TechCrunch reported yesterday that Google’s blogging platform Blogger will be doing some integration with Google Plus. Then the official Blogger blog posted the planned integration as well confirming what TC was saying.
In the official Blogger post they say: ”If you blog under a pseudonym and you don’t want to connect your common name with your blog, this integration may not work for you. That’s why we’ve made it completely optional to switch.”
So to me that is saying, Google isn’t going to be supporting pseudonyms or at least gives that impression. Just the other day though, Google’s Vic Gundotra and Sergey Brin said at Web 2.0 Summit said they are going to allow pseudonyms on Google Plus.
It could just be that the two parts of the company aren’t on the same page, but at the same time when doing “official” posts for products and product integration, this probably should have been ironed out before hand and clarified. Or am I totally off my rocker on this one? Let me know in the comments!
