The future of technology is all about mobile
At the Web 2.0 Summit, analyst Mary Meeker presented a fantastic slide show presentation of Internet and technology trends we have been seeing as of late including projections of the future of technology and where it is going.
In summary, technology is growing tremendously. I think we all know that already though. Meeker expounds that mobile tech is growing but the room for growth is through the roof. There are currently 835 million smart phone subscribers but there are 5.6 billion total mobile phone users. As you can see, smart phone use will only continue to sky rocket and with tablets like the iPad also booming mobile tech is taking off faster than Radio, TV and Internet.

Another interesting slide is that Android has been widely adopted, even at a faster pace than iPhone!
So where does that leave us? Everything is being revolved around mobile. Social Networking, Technology, Search, Advertising and Design are all being developed for mobile. Meeker even goes on to say that the next big trend will be mobile audio — wireless audio, audio devices, sound recognition (i.e., Siri) and mobile sound sharing (music).
